There are many ways to be involved with community ministry. Here are a few options:
If you would like to participate in some way, contact the church office. We can help you plug in to the part of this ministry in which you would like to help.
We will be going back to the Navajo Nation in Hogback, New Mexico in 2008, with the possibility of returning to a Katrina recovery project the following year. We know that the recovery efforts in New Orleans will need to continue for many years to come. The projects in Hogback include painting houses, building handicap ramps, installing bathrooms and new roofs, sewing curtains and helping in the kitchen to feed the work crew, just to name a few. There are projects to fit any level of ability.
Over the past years volunteers have represented churches from Wyoming, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas and New Mexico. Retired people, families and youth groups have worked together each year creating a work force of sixty-five people. In 2007 all of the volunteers went with some Navajo folks to New Orleans to help with the Katrina repair.
Thank you for your prayers and various ways of supporting this ministry! We are using the work trip as an avenue through which we express gratitude to God.
If you are interested in participating in this year's trip, please contact John Shaw at 303-789-3142 or leave a message at any time.
